After University I badgered a national student monthly tabloid whatsonuk, I was appointed assistant editor and within 3 months I was editor overseeing the launch of several bi-monthly glossy guides and consulting the website www.whatson.uk.com. After 2 years I left with the head of sales and main staff writer to launch a new title Blowback. A free high quality monthly publication with a distribution of around 20,000 and eventually paid for in Borders worldwide. We also developed 2 websites, a teaser site which acted as a taster for the look and style of the magazine with the second more content based site a year into our development.

When I left I was employed as a brand consultant for Channel 4's youth-orientated arts magazine Ten4, which became 4Talent. At a similar time I was also consulted by Cancer Intelligence, a developing online medical journal, and ghost writing an article about embracing online for Professor Gordon McVie for Guardian Unlimited http://tinyurl.com/mcviesociety.

Also during this year I began contributing to Virtual Festivals (www.virtualfestivals.co.uk), the UK's largest festival website and various freelance writer jobs.

I also seized the opportunity to take stock of my own work and began blogging old articles as an online archive http://dandavies23.wordpress.com

The following people expressed an interest to attend but are not confirmed because we have not assigned them to this turtle:

The reason can be 3 fold:

  • This is their third choice and we have already assigned them to their first 2 choices
  • This is their second choice but it conflicts with the fact that their first choice runs only once and at the same time
  • They have only just registered (this is done manually)
